Bendesa Beraben then ordered Danghyang Nirartha to leave Tanah Lot. Danghyang Nirartha agreed, but before he with his power moved the Bongkahan Batu to the center of the beach (not to the sea) and built the temple there. He also changed his shawl into a snake guardian of the temple.
